A SHORT FAMILY HOLIDAY TO LANGKAWI AT THE AWANA PORTO MALAI HOTEL
We stayed at Awana Porto Malai Hotel, Langkawi from 1-3 November 2011. I booked the
hotel stay online on www.rwgenting.com. Got a great deal with breakfast
included.
The hotel Manager, was very kind in
upgrading our room! We were given an upgraded sea-view room overlooking
the Awana Porto Malai marina. What a beautiful and breathtaking view.
Our room which was on the 3rd floor, a non-smoking floor, had been recently refurbished. The room was HUGE! It had 2 Queen sized beds, 2 comfortable chairs and a nice balcony.
The bathroom was comfortable and spotlessly clean!
The rooms were very private and quiet and it had a romantic ambience especially with the view and moonlit sea etc. Our 4 year old son was very happy with the large space.
The swimming pool was also well maintained and we had a great time at the pool (daily). Breakfast was excellent. On our first morning while having breakfast we had a treat as there was a pair of Dolphins swimming in the hotel's marina. This captivated everyone! Apparently dolphins very occasionally make an appearance at the marina.
The lobby bar had a good band and drinks are reasonably priced since it's a duty-free island. The pub/disco called The Eagle Rock' also had a great band playing and has a late crowd and stays open until 5am on weekdays!
The hotel staff, front desk staff and also the Front Office Manager were ever helpful and cheerful and made us feel really welcome.
We have made up our minds to stay here again next year. Well done Awana Porto Malai!

Room Tip: Book a sea view room. It's worth the extra money!
